FAQ
Peptides, explained.
Quick answers while you wait.
What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the same building blocks that make up proteins. Your body makes thousands of them naturally, and many act as signaling molecules that help cells communicate. Some peptide medicines, such as insulin and semaglutide, are well established. The peptides we offer are not FDA-approved and have been studied far less, and the success of one peptide medicine doesn’t establish the safety or effectiveness of another.
What is peptide therapy?
Peptide therapy is a prescribed medication made from a specific peptide. The peptides on this waitlist are synthetic versions of peptides your body makes, or of fragments and modified forms of natural proteins. Each product contains one peptide.
Why get peptides through a doctor instead of online?
Many peptides sold online are labeled “research use only” or “not for human consumption.” They’re sold without a prescription, without a doctor reviewing your health history, and often without clear information about where they were made. With Elysium Rx, a board-certified doctor reviews every request, and a licensed U.S. pharmacy prepares each prescription.
How do you think about safety?
Every treatment carries risk, and with these peptides some of those risks aren’t known yet. Most research so far has been done in lab and animal studies, so long-term safety in people hasn’t been established. None of the peptides that we offer are FDA-approved. Each is compounded by a licensed U.S. pharmacy under a prescription written for you.
Before prescribing, your doctor reviews your health history, medications and goals, and may decide a peptide isn’t right for you. Screening, careful pharmacy sourcing and monitoring help manage risk, but they can’t remove it. These peptides haven’t been studied in pregnancy or breastfeeding and aren’t prescribed if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Your doctor will remain available to you throughout your protocol.
When can I get new peptides?
We’re working hard to ensure all quality standards are met and will be in touch as soon as they are available.
